Does it smell of garlic? I have several planted near my front door and I finally realized I was tempting myself to pizza and spaghetti several times a week just by going in the doorway! :-)
Did you figure out what it was?RamblinClairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17386342302791542187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9182089312917589572.post-34726478568873346122012-09-28T08:38:01.956-07:002012-09-28T08:38:01.956-07:00I believe it is something along the lines of Zebra...I believe it is something along the lines of Zebra Grass. I always heard it called ribbon grass but wasn't sure what the actual name was. Here is a link I found, hope it helps.

http://www.bluestem.ca/phalaris-feeseys.htmAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9182089312917589572.post-13180979721308111592012-07-17T18:42:43.904-07:002012-07-17T18:42:43.904-07:00I think it is a Carex. I try to remember to chop it back in early spring before the new growth.
Funny thing, I also have a gnome but my daughter and kids think it's freaky.
Also have more pachysandra than I want from just a few. It's under a flight of stairs, never gets sun, grows prolifically.

I have enjoyed your blog and have put a link to it on our local master gardener working blog. I do a public one as well. Will add a link there also - http://ccmgva.blogspot.comJanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03603350480598194773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9182089312917589572.post-78234849205499748372012-06-28T16:08:09.283-07:002012-06-28T16:08:09.283-07:00Yes, it's definitely a Carex. I have it and although it can tolerate sun it looks better, I think if it is in shade. I had mine by a pond where it looked great.

In my 30 some years of gardening, I've never grown Pachysandra either. I don't really know why since it is a pretty plant. I mean if it's good enough for a gnome... :)GRACE PETERSONhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04520343332670354262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9182089312917589572.post-65567403964035935792012-03-21T22:38:45.101-07:002012-03-21T22:38:45.101-07:00Yes it looks like a Carex/sedge...maybe
